The title of the paper was “Urban animal exploitation and bone taphonomy in the Early Bronze Age III neighbourhood: at Tell es-Safi/Gath, Israel”. It was given by Haskel Greenfield, and was written by HG, Annie Brown, Itzhaq Shai, and Aren Maeir. It was the last paper and the last day of the conference, but the session was very well attended with over 50 participants. The paper given immediately beforehand was by Yuval Yukutiel of Ben-Gurion University who described his recent excavations at nearby Tell Erani of the earlier part of the Early Bronze Age. It was very nice having the two papers given back to back since they described complementary material. Future comparisons of the two sites will definitely be warranted.
